Is the Tribulation God’s or Satan’s Wrath?
I found a need for this study because this helps one understand the signs of the end of the age. Please feel free to input your thoughts within my Facebook group called: The Elect the Church. I notice when doing a search, it all depends how you search, “Is the tribulation God’s wrath?” The search leads to the first couple that claim it is the wrath of God never proving it. Search “Tribulation wrath of God” you will see more answers to the contrary, and all using verses to explain rather than interpretation.
:
The belief the Tribulation is the Wrath of God only derives from these passage and then ones interpretation.
We are not designed to suffer God’s Wrath
John 3:36
36 The one who believes in the Son has eternal life, but the one who refuses to believe in the Son will not see life; instead, the wrath of God remains on him.
This states we who believes in the Son, will not see God’s wrath, this is true. Although once one knows the difference between God’s wrath and Satan’s it really helps to understand even more.
Romans 5:8
8 But God proves His own love for us in that while we were still sinners, Christ died for us! 9 Much more then, since we have now been declared righteous by His blood, we will be saved through Him from wrath.
Nothing here to state whether God’s wrath or Satan’s either.
Revelation 3:10: “Because thou hast kept the word of my patience, I also will keep thee from the hour of temptation, which shall come upon all the world, to try them that dwell upon the earth.”
Does not tell you when God’s wrath is.
In Revelation 1:19, John is told to write three things: “Write the things which thou hast seen, and the things which are, and the things which shall be hereafter.” Chapters 1-3 contain “…the things thou hast seen, and the things which are.” The churches the letters were written to go through a tribulation for 10 days, seen in Revelation 2:10;
Revelation 2:10 : Don’t be afraid of what you are about to suffer. Look, the Devil is about to throw some of you into prison to test you, and you will have affliction for 10 days. Be faithful until death, and I will give you the crown of life.
Revelation 4:1 HCSB
4 After this I looked, and there in heaven was an open door. The first voice that I had heard speaking to me like a trumpet said, “Come up here, and I will show you what must take place after this.”
Revelation 4:1 KJV
4 After this I looked, and, behold, a door was opened in heaven: and the first voice which I heard was as it were of a trumpet talking with me; which said, Come up hither, and I will shew thee things which must be hereafter.
Revelation 4 the start of end time prophecy. “ I will show you the things in the hereafter.” Already explaining in Revelation 1:19 the order.
Verses stating whose wrath the tribulation belongs to. Displaying two versions.
Daniel 11:36 HCSB
36 “Then the king will do whatever he wants. He will exalt and magnify himself above every god, and he will say outrageous things against the God of gods. He will be successful until the time of wrath is completed, because what has been decreed will be accomplished.
Daniel 11:36 KJV
36 And the king shall do according to his will; and he shall exalt himself, and magnify himself above every god, and shall speak marvelous things against the God of gods, and shall prosper till the *indignation be accomplished: for that that is determined shall be done.
Revelation 12:12 HCSB
Therefore rejoice, ye heavens, and ye that dwell in them. Woe to the inhabiters of the earth and of the sea! For the devil is come down unto you, having great wrath, because he knoweth that he hath but a short time.
Another verse where you don’t have to dance around for the conclusion stating having great wrath is pretty much a hint.
Indignation: Angry, rage, fury.
Notice these verses are direct, no interpretation needed? These verses themselves can basically close the case, but there is way more to understand. Such as the timing. And evidence Revelations is not in Chronological order.
Revelation 19:11-15
11 And I saw heaven opened, and behold a white horse; and he that sat upon him was called Faithful and True, and in righteousness he doth judge and make war. 12 His eyes were as a flame of fire, and on his head were many crowns; and he had a name written, that no man knew, but he himself. 13 And he was clothed with a vesture dipped in blood: and his name is called The Word of God. 14 And the armies which were in heaven followed him upon white horses, clothed in fine linen, white and clean. 15 And out of his mouth goeth a sharp sword, that with it he should smite the nations: and he shall rule them with a rod of iron: and he treadeth the winepress of the fierceness and wrath of Almighty God.
This is the time of God’s wrath.
To help understand the timing and revelation, one must understand that Revelation is not in chronological order. A simple comparison within Revelation proves this quite easily. First let’s read Revelation 11 comparing to the seventh bowl in Revelation 6.
Revelation 11
The Seventh Trumpet
15 The seventh angel blew his trumpet, and there were loud voices in heaven saying: The kingdom of the world has become the kingdom of our Lord and of His Messiah, and He will reign forever and ever! 16 The 24 elders, who were seated before God on their thrones, fell facedown and worshiped God, 17 saying: We thank You, Lord God, the Almighty, who is and who was, because You have taken Your great power and have begun to reign. 18 The nations were angry, but Your wrath has come. The time has come for the dead to be judged and to give the reward to Your servants the prophets, to the saints, and to those who fear Your name, both small and great, and the time has come to destroy those who destroy the earth. 19 God’s sanctuary in heaven was opened, and the ark of His covenant[p]appeared in His sanctuary. There were flashes of lightning, rumblings of thunder, an earthquake,[q] and severe hail.
Compare the Trumpet to the Bowl or vial.
Revelation 16
The Seventh Bowl
17 Then the seventh[p] poured out his bowl into the air,[q] and a loud voice came out of the sanctuary[r] from the throne, saying, “It is done!” 18 There were flashes of lightning and rumblings of thunder. And a severe earthquake occurred like no other since man has been on the earth—so great was the quake. 19 The great city split into three parts, and the cities of the nations[s] fell. Babylon the Great was remembered in God’s presence; He gave her the cup filled with the wine of His fierce anger.20 Every island fled, and the mountains disappeared.[t] 21 Enormous hailstones, each weighing about 100 pounds,[u] fell from the sky on people, and they blasphemed God for the plague of hail because that plague was extremely severe.
Simply reading in comparison these are the same two events the 7’th bowl and 7th Trumpet. These are the same events. Even more interesting the 6th seal Chapter 6 comparing Ezekiel 38:18-22 and Matthew 24:29 all five passages are the same event.
Compare to Revelation 6
The Sixth Seal
12 Then I saw Him open[r] the sixth seal. A violent earthquake occurred; the sun turned black like sackcloth made of goat hair; the entire moon[s]became like blood; 13 the stars[t] of heaven fell to the earth as a fig tree drops its unripe figs when shaken by a high wind; 14 the sky separated like a scroll being rolled up; and every mountain and island was moved from its place. 15 Then the kings of the earth, the nobles, the military commanders, the rich, the powerful, and every slave and free person hid in the caves and among the rocks of the mountains. 16 And they said to the mountains and to the rocks, “Fall on us and hide us from the face of the One seated on the throne and from the wrath of the Lamb, 17 because the great day of Their[u] wrath has come! And who is able to stand?”
Ezekiel 38:18-22
18 Now on that day, the day when Gog comes against the land of Israel”—this is the declaration of the Lord God—“My wrath will flare up.[d] 19 I swear in My zeal and fiery rage: On that day there will be a great earthquake in the land of Israel. 20 The fish of the sea, the birds of the sky, the animals of the field, every creature that crawls on the ground, and every human being on the face of the earth will tremble before Me. The mountains will be thrown down, the cliffs will collapse, and every wall will fall to the ground. 21 I will call for a sword against him on all My mountains”—the declaration of the Lord God—“and every man’s sword will be against his brother. 22 I will execute judgment on him with plague and bloodshed. I will pour out torrential rain, hailstones, fire, and brimstone on him, as well as his troops and the many peoples who are with him.
Matthew 24: 29 “Immediately after the tribulation of those days: The sun will be darkened, and the moon will not shed its light; the stars will fall from the sky, and the celestial powers will be shaken. 30 “Then the sign of the Son of Man will appear in the sky, and then all the peoples of the earth[m] will mourn;[n] and they will see the Son of Man coming on the clouds of heaven with power and great glory. 31 He will send out His angels with a loud trumpet, and they will gather His elect from the four winds, from one end of the sky to the other.
See all 5 events described are actually 1 single event explained in 5 different passages. Knowing the timing and all that is used to prove Wrath of God compared to Satan’s wrath and exactly when God’s wrath is poured out, shows we will be raptured at the end of the tribulation of Satan’s wrath we will be raptured, thus saving us from God’s wrath poured out in Revelation 19
In conclusion I have taken both sides and only one side seems obvious. The wrath of Satan is during the Tribulation. We will be saved immediately after the tribulation of those day. This is not to prove pre-rapture. But that it is Satan’s wrath during the tribulation.
